These terms are an agreement between you and ReApps LLC (“we”, “us”) about Lock Beam, the iPhone app and this website. By using Lock Beam you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, don’t use Lock Beam.

Zero tolerance

Lock Beam has no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive people. We remove content and ban people who break these rules, and we report child sexual abuse material to the authorities. Report anything from inside the app, or email [email protected]. We review reports within 24 hours.

1. Who can use Lock Beam

You must be at least 13 years old. If you’re under 18, or under the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms for you. You can’t use Lock Beam if we’ve banned you, or if the law where you live doesn’t allow it.

2. How Lock Beam works

  • After a one-time setup with Apple’s Shortcuts app, a quiet notification lets your iPhone set your Lock Screen when something new arrives. You stay in control: you can pause, restore your own background, or turn the automation off at any time.
  • Only people you let in can beam to your Lock Screen. People who beam to you see only what they sent, never your whole screen. In a group, members share one Lock Screen.
  • Lock Beam relies on iOS features that Apple controls and may change, such as Shortcuts, notifications and wallpapers. Delivery can be late or fail, and we can’t promise that every beam will be applied.
  • Once a picture has been set on someone’s Lock Screen, it’s on their phone. Removing it or blocking them stops further delivery, but no app can take back what’s already there, and anyone can take a screenshot. Only beam what you’re comfortable with them keeping.

3. Your content

You own what you beam. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, process (including automated and human safety review), transmit and display your content, only to run, secure and improve Lock Beam and to deliver it to the people you chose. The licence ends when your content is deleted, except for copies we must keep for safety or legal reasons.

You promise that you have the right to beam what you beam, including the permission of anyone who can be recognised in it.

4. The rules

Don’t beam, share or do any of the following:

  • Sexual content involving minors, or anything that sexualises minors. We report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and to law enforcement.
  • Intimate or sexual images of anyone without their consent, including images made or altered with AI (“deepfakes”).
  • Nudity, pornography or other sexually explicit material.
  • Harassment, bullying, threats or intimidation, or content meant to shame or humiliate someone.
  • Hate speech, or content that attacks people for their race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age or a similar characteristic.
  • Graphic violence or gore, or content that encourages suicide, self-harm or eating disorders.
  • Content that promotes terrorism, violent extremism or illegal activity.
  • Other people’s private information, such as home addresses, phone numbers, identity documents or financial details.
  • Impersonation, spam, scams or deliberately misleading content.
  • Content that infringes someone else’s copyright, trademark or other rights.
  • Malware, or anything that breaks, overloads, probes or reverse-engineers Lock Beam, its servers or other people’s accounts.
  • Getting around a block, a removal or a ban, including with another account or device.
  • Pressuring someone to let you in, or to send images.

5. Moderation and enforcement

We use a word filter and automated image screening, and people review reports. We may hold, hide or remove content, limit features, block a person, or ban a device or account, with or without notice, when we believe these rules or the law have been broken or to protect someone.

When we remove your content, we tell you why (in the EU, this is our statement of reasons), unless the law or someone’s safety prevents it. If you think we got it wrong, email [email protected] within six months and a person will look at it again.

6. Reporting and blocking

You can report any item or person, and block anyone, from inside the app. A reported item disappears for you at once, and an item reported by three people is hidden for everyone until we review it. We review reports within 24 hours. Blocking stops that person from beaming to you. You can also report by email at [email protected]; see Support.

7. Intimate images: removal within 48 hours

If an intimate image of you was shared on Lock Beam without your consent, including one made or altered with AI, ask us to remove it with the takedown form or by email. We remove it within 48 hours of a valid request, along with any identical copies we can find, as the US TAKE IT DOWN Act requires. If the image shows someone under 18, we also report it to NCMEC.

8. Copyright

If you believe something on Lock Beam infringes your copyright, email [email protected] with: your contact details; the work; where it appears on Lock Beam (the sender’s name, the group or code, and the date); a statement that you believe in good faith the use isn’t authorised; a statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and that you own the right or may act for the owner; and your signature. We may remove the content and close the accounts of repeat infringers.

9. Channels

Channel artwork is licensed to you for personal, non-commercial use as your Lock Screen background while you use Lock Beam. Please don’t redistribute it.

10. Paid features

Lock Beam is free to use. If we offer paid features, they’ll be sold through the App Store under Apple’s terms, and we’ll describe them before you buy.

11. Ending

You can stop using Lock Beam at any time and delete your data in Settings → Delete my data. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if the law requires it, or if we stop offering Lock Beam, in which case we’ll give notice where we reasonably can. Sections 3 (for copies we keep), 12, 13, 14 and 15 continue to apply after your access ends.

12. Disclaimers

Lock Beam is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We aren’t responsible for what other people beam, although we act on reports.

13. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits or goodwill, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of USD 50 and what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law doesn’t allow to be limited, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud, and nothing takes away your rights as a consumer under mandatory law.

14. Indemnity

To the extent the law allows, if you break these terms or the law and someone makes a claim against us because of it, you’ll cover our reasonable costs of that claim.

15. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the place where ReApps LLC is registered, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and disputes go to the courts there. If you’re a consumer in the EU, the UK or another place whose law gives you the right, you keep the protection of your country’s mandatory laws and can also bring a claim in your local courts.

16. Apple

These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple isn’t responsible for Lock Beam or its content and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it. If Lock Beam fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any; to the extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation. We, not Apple, are responsible for any claims relating to Lock Beam, including product liability claims, claims that it fails to meet a legal or regulatory requirement, and consumer protection or privacy claims, and for investigating, defending, settling and discharging any claim that Lock Beam infringes someone’s intellectual property. You confirm that you aren’t in a country subject to a US government embargo or designated as a “terrorist supporting” country, and aren’t on any US government list of prohibited or restricted parties. You must also follow any third-party terms that apply when you use Lock Beam, such as your carrier’s. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

17. Changes

We may update these terms. We’ll post the new version here with a new date and, for significant changes, tell you in the app before they take effect. If you keep using Lock Beam after that, the new terms apply.
